چکیده

OUCHI, E., MUTRA, K. and YAMAGATA, S. Reevaluation of Congo Red Test as Reticuloendothelial System Function Test Using Tritiated Congo Red Autoradio graphy. Tohoku J. exp. Med., 1973, 109 (3), 251-259 Tritiated Congo red was prepared by the gas exposure method. Analytical results obtained by thin layer chromatography and spectrophotometry indicated that the radioactive Congo red thus prepared had the same properties as the original material. The incorporation of tritiated Congo red into the RES tissues of Donryu rats was studied after intravenous injection by autoradiography and liquid scintillation counter. It was found that Congo red was taken up by Kupffer's stellate cells specifically. The uptake of stellate cells reached a maximum level at the end of 24 hours after injection. However, silver grains were not found in any of the RES cells of other organs at this time. Radioactivity was detected in various tissues. The highest level was found in kidney and followed by liver, lung, spleen, heart and large intestine in decreasing order. RES function test; Congo red test; tritiated Congo red

Relation between the affinity for congo red and the glycoprotein content of serum in rheumatoid arthritis and related diseases.

Disappearance of congo red from the serum has long been considered by many investigators to be the best and most constant indicator of amyloidosis. The congo red test, as shown by Bennhold (1923), measures the proportion of this dye which is retained in the plasma one hour after its intravenous injection. The validity of this test has been the subject of intense discussion. Disappearance of 40-...

Removal of Congo red from aqueous solutions using nano-Chitosan

It is now recognized that adsorption using low-cost adsorbents is an effective and economic method for water decontamination. Chitosan is derived by deacetylation of the naturally occurring biopolymer chitin which is the second most abundant polysaccharide in the world after cellulose. In this study, the capacity of the chitosan nanoparticles was studied for the removal of the anionic Congo red...

A Kinetic Study on Adsorption of Congo Red from Aqueous Solution by ZnO-ZnFe2O4-polypyrrole Magnetic Nanocomposite

In this work, magnetically separable ZnO-ZnFe2O4-PPy nanocomposite as an efficient adsorbent was synthesized by two steps. At first, zinc oxide (ZnO) and ZnFe2O4 nanoparticles were synthesized using simple and facile precipitation method. Then, ZnO-ZnFe2O4 mixed oxide was modified by polypyrrole (PPy). The adsorbent was character...
